Fortum Invests €10 Million to Build More Wind Power in Sweden

Industrial PRIME | November 17, 2015

Fortum and Skellefteå Kraft are to build the fourth phase of the Blaiken wind farm located in Sweden.

The fourth phase consists of a total of nine wind turbines, out of which Fortum will invest in three.

The value of Fortum‘s investment is approximately €10 million. The new wind turbines are expected to start production in 2017.

With its current 90 wind turbines, twelve of which are owned by Fortum, the Blaiken wind farm is one of the biggest onshore wind farms in Europe. Its annual production, estimated to be between 600 and 720 GWh, is equivalent to the annual electricity consumption of roughly 150,000 households. The construction of the wind farm began in 2011.
